Yes, you can walk your dog.
From 5 January 2021, you may only leave your home for limited necessary reasons. One of these reasons includes walking your dog alone, with members of your household or with one other person from another household following social distancing guidelines.?
While government guidance is to keep exercise to once per day, you may walk your dog more often if they need this. Though, where possible, you should try to limit the amount of times you go out with them.
In?Wales, exercise must start and end at home and you can only exercise alone or with members of your own household or support bubble.
To follow social distancing, people walking dogs should remain two metres away from people they do not live with or who are not in their support bubble, and use a lead, if necessary, to avoid contact with?other people.
How many people you can meet with outside will depend on local restrictions.
If you have been told to self-isolate?you should ask someone outside of your household and support bubble to walk your dog for you. You can also ask any dog walking services provided by a professional.
You can also help your dog through isolation with these fun games for when you’re stuck inside.
There is thorough information about social distancing measures on the government website, however it is for people, not dogs.
